The Yellow-Crested Cockatoo: The Jungle Performer

With its flamboyant yellow crest and playful personality, the yellow-crested cockatoo is a true entertainer of the wild. Native to Indonesia and nearby regions, these birds are known for their intelligence and mimicry skills.

A cockatoo named Sunny, living near a Bali village, astonished locals by imitating human laughter and even the sound of motorcycles passing by. Sunny would often perform impromptu “dances,” bobbing and twirling in rhythm with nearby music. Sadly, the species is endangered due to illegal pet trade, but stories like Sunny’s remind us of the joy and wonder these birds bring to nature.
